When I had my divorce a few years back a friend of mine introduced me to online dating. I was shocked at first how easy it was and how comfortable it was to build an online profile and send out a couple of messages to single women in my area. I was totally blown away at how many women my age that were on this particular site that lived with in 15 miles from where I lived. I figured that the only people out on the web on one of these sites are old ugly fat women that cannot get a date to save their soul. How totally wrong I was.
The advantage I found to online dating was that I did not have to get dressed up and go out to a club to scope out the action and hopefully find a nice woman. My personal experience was fantastic with online dating. I met the woman of my dreams and we just celebrated our one year anniversary. I would not give out my personal email address until I was 100% comfortable with the other individual. After several emails I would then offer my phone number to the person for a one on one conversation with the person and then if I was comfortable and I could tell the other person was comfortable with me, at that time I would then ask the person out to meet face to face.
