This is part 2 of a multipart series of posts regarding suggested anti-gambling legislation. In the following article, I start discussion of those quoted reasons for this legislation, and the real facts that exist in the actual world.
The legislators are trying to protect us from something, or are they? The entire thing sounds a little perplexing to say the least ดาวน์โหลด joker123.
As stated in the prior post, the House, and the Senate, are once more considering the matter of”Online Gambling”. Bills have been filed by Congressmen Goodlatte and Leach, and also by Senator Kyl.
The bill being put forward by Rep. Goodlatte, The online Gambling Prohibition Act, has the stated intention of updating the Wire Act to outlaw all forms of online gambling, to make it illegal for a gambling business to accept credit and digital transfers, and also to force ISPs and Common Carriers to obstruct access to gambling related sites at the request of law enforcement.
Just as does Rep. Goodlatte,” Sen. Kyl, in his invoice, Prohibition on Funding of Unlawful Internet Gambling, makes it illegal to allow gaming companies to accept credit cards, electronic transfers, checks and other forms of payment for its intent on placing illegal bets, but his bill doesn’t address those that place bets.
It concentrates on preventing gambling businesses from accepting credit cards, electronic transfers, checks, and other obligations, and such as the Kyl bill makes no changes to what’s currently legal, or prohibited.
So, regardless of whether online gambling is presently legal or not, exactly what is it that the politicians are trying to protect us ?

I think a reasonable translation of that quote would be”American parents are incapable of raising their own children so Congress should step in and do it to them’. Because of course we are all aware that the politicians have a lot better idea about what’s ideal for us and our children than we do.
And in a different quote”In short, the Internet is a challenge to the sovereignty of civilized communities, States, and nations to choose what’s appropriate and adequate behavior”.
A reasonable translation of this quote would appear to go something like”Individual Americans are not capable of determining for themselves what behavior is acceptable and appropriate in their own houses. Fortunately Congress is here to protect them and legislate morality for them”.
Not only is it Congress allegedly responsible for raising the children of America, but to be able to accomplish this, and to prevent us from unknowingly doing anything indecent, they are going to legislate what we can do with our own money, on our own time, in our homes. Does this seem like the very model of a free society, or even the beginnings of a misguided totalitarian state?
Let’s delve a bit deeper into these protections and see just how curious the politicians actually are in making certain that our children are safe from the evils of gaming.
Bear in mind, all these following forms of gambling are currently legal, or could be made especially legal from the invoice being put forward by Rep. Goodlatte.
To begin with, we have casinos, and race tracks. While I definitely wouldn’t try to claim that online gaming is great for the American household, clearly, to the extent which children can relax and play in their own homes, and sleep in their beds, online gaming gifts less of an issue than the current state encouraged alternative.
Another form of online gambling the proposed legislation would exempt from illegal status is that the sale of lottery tickets by the states on the internet. It’s difficult to see how these legislators show deep concern for the children of America according to the following quote from Overcoming Life Digest (July/August, 1998 Issue)”Studies demonstrate that lotteries would be the favorite legal gambling game for teenagers. Statistically, one of seven who perform will become addicted.” However, 31 percent of callers to the 1-800-GAMBLER federal hotline (controlled by the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey) suggested problems with lottery gambling.”
In still another case of government raking in money with regard for the children of America, we’ve got Video Lottery Machines. Certainly, the laws proposed doesn’t”keep kids from borrowing the household credit card, logging on to the household computer, and losing tens of thousands of dollars all before their parents get home from work”, they’ll be able to buy lottery tickets, wager on horse races, and head down to the local convenience shop to play with the VLTs.
